Walpole Porchfest 2023

A Wide Array of Musicians Perform at the Town Common and on Front Porches Across Walpole

Porchfest is a nationwide event bringing local musicians and neighborhoods together to celebrate and create a sense of community. It took place locally in Walpole on Sunday, August 13. Artists performed on the town common bandstand, and on several neighborhood porches across town that were offered by residents as musical venues. A passing sprinkle and a rumble of thunder were idle threats to an otherwise beautiful summer day with warm temperatures and a pleasant breeze.

This year's Walpole Porchfest featured musicians from diverse genres including classic, oldies, indie and punk rock, pop, soul and R&B, folk, jazz, classical and songs from the Great American Songbook. From vocals to strings to accordion music to drumming and more, many talented musicians contributed their time and talent at this fourth annual event. They enthusiastically entertained the Walpole community from 11:30 AM until dusk. The event was organized by local resident Eric Hurwitz and his musician daughter Katie, and was held in conjunction with Destination Downtown. Sound engineering was handled expertly by Mark Romeo.
